It's been awhile here at Dagwood Country Radio since we had a new Featured CD. What happened? Well basically there hasn't been a CD released since the Dixie Chicks, Taking The Long Way that we felt warrented the work required to produce and update the featured CD page. Rascal Flatts latest CD is great but it has garnered so much attention we felt it would be redundent here to feature it. And that's it. The rest of the CD's released this past summer had one or two or maybe three good tracks but nothing else to get really excited about.
We almost featured Emerson Drive's latest CD, Countrified last week. It has a lot of excellent tracks and is possibly their best album todate. If you've liked Emerson Drive in the past go out and buy this CD. So why didn't we feature the CD? Well as we were preparing to we received an advance copy of Lonestars next CD titled, Mountains.
The CD which hits stores this Tuesday, October 17, is by far the best CD released in the last 5 month. (You have a different opinion, e-mail me.) Of the 11 tracks on the CD 8 were instant contenders for the 4 spots available in our Featured CD rotation. The current single, Mountains is #19 on the Billboard Charts after 17 weeks (#15 on Dagwood Radio's Chart) and still rising.
The other tracks we've selected to feature are, One Of Those Nights, Careful Where You Kiss Me and Long Lost Smile.
If you listen to the CD repeatedly, as I have, you'll maybe notice a formula to the tracks production with many tracks starting out slow tempo then building quickly. But it's an excellent formula, perfectly executed.
This will be a winner for the group and all their fans.
4 Stars out of 5.
